APOLOGIZE TO LISA

After Spotify's error makes the BLACKPINK rapper the target of vicious attacks, "APOLOGIZE TO LISA" becomes trend.

One of the top global Twitter topics right now is "APOLOGIZE TO LISA." A error made by Spotify led to Lisa receiving a lot of abuse from internet trolls who launched a variety of misogynistic, xenophobic, and slut-shaming assaults on her, according to fans who think the "Money" singer needs an apology.

Since BTS' "Golden Maknae" was included in a number of international hit singles this year, including "Left and Right," "Stay Alive," and his most recent world cup song "Dreamers," Spotify's first announcement that Jungkook of BTS was the most-streamed K-Pop soloist of 2022 made sense.

Lisa of BLACKPINK, however, became the most played K-Pop solo artist of 2022 after Spotify made some alterations to their K-Pop tracking system. In September of last year, Lisa performed for the first time alone. Lalisa, Money, and SG are the three tracks she is acknowledged as having contributed to on her Spotify profile.

Following this modification, Lisa was attacked by online trolls and haters who claimed she was "sleeping with Spotify's head for streams" and other despicable things.

A few hours later, Spotify revised their K-Pop rankings once more while acknowledging its earlier error.

"We make an effort each year to appropriately represent global consumption. Multiple genre classifications resulted in slightly varied top ten lists for our playlist of the top K-Pop artists of 2022, and they were not correctly combined. This oversight has been fixed. Spotify Kpop tweeted about it. We regret this oversight and we join the fans in celebrating BTS's many successes.

What were all those hateful remarks directed at her for? Today, she was receiving a lot of body shame, slurs, and xenophobic remarks in addition to claims that she had slept with the Spotify employee over some streams. It is Lisa who needs to apologize. In reply, a fan wrote.

They have received a lot of slvt-shaming, accusations, maligning, & disrespect on numerous social media platforms as a result of your failure & inconsistent reporting. For the sake of clarity and to ensure that this won't happen again, we implore you to publish detailed instructions on how you created your lists.
